petcock

    my petcock has the vacumme hose cut and a bolt in it. does this matter? does the petcock work the same way? im kinda lost any help would be nice. thanks guys! 8O

    if the vacuum isn't hooked up then PRI is the new ON and ON and RES are the new OFF.

    this will work fine except if you run out of gas, you have no reserve and if you don't switch it to ON or RES (the new OFF) when you park it, you could have a stuck float let all your gas drain into the carb bowls and then the airbox and any open cylinders necessitating an oil change.

    or you could install a new line - i think they're like, 27 cents/ft at the hardware store.

    With that set up, it should only work on PRI, if it works in any possition you are just relying on the float to shut of the flow of fuel, this can lead to problems.
