    hey there,

after all my modifications this year everything is good with one exception.

my speedo will not go past 50km/h it reads fine up until that and then stops dead i havent changed the cluster or modified it is any way. i did have it a aprt for painting the outside of it but nothing internal i also did have the front wheel off but i put the speedo sensor back between the 2 grooves like it should be.

    any idea?

Make sure the tangs are engaging properly with the speedo. I had mine bend a bit and it gave me intermittent operation. Also check that you have tightened the front axle enough.

It's more than likely the inside part of the needle. The 28 or so year old oil will have gummed up. fitz has a really good write up on cleaning them, i'll try to find it and post.

    Here ya go:

I did mine the first week of ownership, and it's a night and day diff after you do it.
