I want to change my 2 piece handlebars to a 1 piece drag bar. For the life of me I can't get the bar off. I took out the cotter pin and took the nut off. It wiggles but wont slide out. There is a black cap under the bar. I thought there might be another screw underneath but it looks like the screw is coming down from under the cap???????

I am taking it down to the frame and doing a complete cosmetic make over. I will attempt the power train this winter. I have never worked on a motorcycle before. I have a budget of $1,000 and the first Sunday in October as a deadline. I'll record the whole build as it's being done with a ticker on the budget and the timeline. I know absolutely NOTHING about motorcycles and I probably have less than 50 hours on the road. If I can pull this off than really anybody will be able to do it. My brother says it never run again. I say with the help of the dudes on this site we can do it. We have a steak dinner ridding on it. Any input from anyone would be great!

Yeah I have a seat on mine that I swear used to be a leather couch (or still is) and I have no pipes at the moment. Ahh the joys of pre owned vehicles.
