    Hi everyone,

In a bit of a predicament here. When rebuilding my carbs on my 1982 XJ550, in my infinite wisdom, I apparently misplaced the screws that hold on the idle screw, heat shield, and other big metal piece that secures the carbs together.
My question is, where would one get ahold of these screws besides rummaging through the screw bins at Home Depot trying to find a match haha?
On a side note, I have heard it said that the heat shield is only present on the XJ550 Seca, but I was under the impression that my bike was the Maxim...any input?

    Thanks!

Lowes and Home Depot don't have a good selection of metric screws. You will have to find a real hardware stors like Ace or True Value, they will have most every metric screw for your carbs.

I replaced all the bolts on my carb rack when I rebuilt it last with allen head bolts from Lowes and that worked great, but they all rusted in the last 2 years.
I was just compiling a list of stainless steel replacements to get from Chacal for the next time I have them off.
Don't use the black oxide ones from Lowes, they don't weather well, they sure did look cool though!
