I know it's a random question especially for my first but here goes:

I wired in some Universal Side view mirror turn signals. The stock bulbs had 2 filament bulbs, I noticed this before throwing them away, they were trashed.

My question is a simple one. Does the 'running light' filament turn off when you activate the turn signal. In other words, when the turn signal is on and is blinking does the light shut completely off then back on?

    Thanks for the info. :)

    KLX,

What bike do you ride. I am not aware of any stock running signal lights

if the running light shut off when the signal blinked there would be no reason to have two filaments, just start blinking the one thats already lit
in other words, no, one is a blinker the other is a light
just to be sure, how many wires go to the socket? maybe someone jammed the wrong bulb in it

Ok, that's what I was thinking. There are some cars, and apparently some bikes, that have a constant and a flashing filament. I am pretty sure mine is the normal but I'm not sure. The front signals are 3-wire type and I replaced them with 2 wire signals which is why I was asking.
