Alrite, thanks for the help on the 750 guys.. now it's the 700's turn

Last year i overcharged the battery, turned on the key, heard something pop, the rpm and speedo gauges were bounching, then everything kinda petered out. And now when you turn on the key nothing comes on whatsoever.

do any of you guys have a link to a wiring diagram for this puppy? I couldnt find one when i searched...

What do you guys think fried? I checked the fuses and the main fuse, they're all good, this thing is wired a little more complex than the 750 unfortunately.. I checked my old post when this happened, helmet said it could have been the regulator / rectifyer ...

i'm thinking about buying a wiring harness off ebay and just replacing bits until it works... as i speak im charging the battery out of my cb750 so i can start testing.. but i'd like a wiring diagram before I go poking because it really helped with my seca 750... Thanks guys.

There might be an in-line fuse, somewhere, hopefully.
Just use a 2amp charger, not the one for the John Deere.

    Do you still have power?

I'd check the main fuse under the front seat, and then check all the fuses under the panel by the guages.

I'd also check your stator/alternator connection. They are notorious for going.

I'd chopper wire it and lose all the unnecessary crap. More than likely you'll find it that way.

    - After searching some more and trying different keywords, i found a maxim x diagram- and the juice goes through the 30 amp fuse then to the regulater/rectifyer..., i got juice to the regulator, but when I put juice to it, I got none out, so i'm pretty darn sure that's my problem... Helmet was right, and it would explain it because ALL of my power goes into it and it it's fried, I wouldnt have any power anywhere... PHEW

dwcopple- I would like to do something similar to a bik i'm keeping, but i'm looking to sell this and if peole see it as "hacked" they may think otherwise about buying / trading it..

    - this bike may be a ticking time bomb.. i noticed the little brass caps are still on the carbs, so if no one ever took the time to make srue it was running rich or lean, then i doubt the valves have been adjusted... hrm..

schooter, the juice comes from the alternator to the regulator and then to the battery from there it gets distributed to the rest of the bike
the output of the regulator is connected to the battery, that's how it gets charged but if the bike's not running all the juice comes from the battery
looking backwards me thinks at it are you

on an xj700/700 x, they are right under the left side cover. They are attached to the same thing the tci is, a plastic type cover. It's a funny aluminum colored vented piece with a bit connector. The side stand relay switch is also right there (it's blue/black)

aaaah the recitfier lol, the book calls it a rectifier regulator hmmm, so that's what makes the voltage get so high to the plugs? no that would be the coils themselves. So whats the rectifier regulater do?
