I have a chance to trade my Maxim on a offroad bike
(private, not dealer) and was wondering what I should expect to get for it.
It is in mint condition with only 11,000km on it,has been stored for the last 15years or so,new tires front and back, all fluids were flushed and changed,no dents,no rust, red in color. I will try to get a picture up soon.

    Thanks

I would say $1500-2000 USD, but I dont know the going price on even my own bike...lol

I traded a Roland Electric drum set for mine.

I sold my 1982 two years ago for $1,300. It had 31K miles. New rubber, brakes, fork seals etc. Windshield, saddle bags, driving lights. Looked pretty good and needed nothing. It took me three months to get that price. I'm not sure I could get that much today, economy here is much worse.

Looking at a Suzuki DR-Z400 so I can trail ride with my son as well as use it to go to work, etc.

Also, being in Canada this bike has 6,000 miles (11,000km) so is like new.
    I was thinking $2,500-3,000...

    Thanks for the replies.

What does stored mean? As in for the winter, or lived in a garage? Or hasn't been used for 15 years. Because if it's the latter...it'd be worth $500-$1000. Even in perfect condition, $2500-$3000 is dreaming (I didn't think the exchange rate from US to CAN was that far off anymore).

On a 30 y/o bike, mileage is less important than how many miles you recently put on it. A bike that sits is a bike that rots.

Stored as in put in a garage and not used for 15 years. I don't think it rotted as it looks and runs like new...

I wish I could trade straight across for the DR-Z400s but no, would have to kick in a few thou.

    Thanks

Now in the spring, you should get $2500 in Canada no problem. If it is in as good shape as you say.

I know in the midwest while talking to alot of used bike dealers the prices have gone up. Lots of women are buying bikes on top of people trying to find rides that have better fuel economy.
