    Big thanks to Eric (plansea) for coming over to help get my xj running again. Sounds of all four cylinders running nicely has me looking forward, once again, to this ride.

    Hope the monsoon that has arrived today does not hang around until next weekend.

    Here are some details for the May 29 ride.

    Meet: Saturday May 29 at 8:00 am
    Where: Starbucks on Hastings, past Kensington in Burnaby (approx. 6536 east Hastings)
    Why: it is next to a petro can - gas and coffee

    Starbucks on Hastings in Burnaby

    We are planning a shorter, 4 hour or so trip, as our inaugural XJBikes lower mainland event, heading east from town, north of the river through Stave Falls, Dewdney, Harrison Mills, etc.

    We will likely cross the river out in the valley to head home. Plansea and I are working on the specific route, but traffic getting out of town can be BRUTAL and the earlier we leave the better.

    We hope to be on the road by 8:30. Plansea (Eric) and I (Alan) will be at the Starbucks on Hastings (in Burnaby) just east of Kensington for 8:00 am, as outlined above.

    Looking forward to seeing you there.

    Saturday ride is still on - though if there is a tropical storm rolling though Saturday morning, I will still be at the Starbucks outlined above...but probably not on the XJ!!

    Check here Saturday morning for a cancellation notice if the heavens have opened up. If not, see you there!

    It is 7:15 am, and I am looking out my kitchen window at some serious rain. I am inclined to postpone this ride. I will be at the coffee shop for 8:00 am, but chances are good that I will be opting out of this, and taking my 5 year old to soccer instead. Let's hope the weather improves dramatically in the next hour or so.
