Yeah. Took my XJ700 out last week before the snow storm up here in Cochrane, ON. It was cool but sunny. It was great. I stabilized the gas in the tank with Seafoam. It started after 2-3 seconds of cranking, but liked the choke on for while due to the +12 C temperature.

i have been out for a couple of weeks now. Not everyday but most. Just dress for the morning and use the saddle bags in the afternoon.

When we got that warm spell, I couldn't stand looking at mine in the garage. Put her back together and been riding off and on. Next rainy days, will look at the shims and the cam chain.

When I came home from the chilly ride the engine wouldn't idle down.
It revved at about 3,000RPM and it was only after 3-4- blips on the throttle that it settled down.
    Any ideas why?

The sides in the carbs maybe hanging up. Search "your carbs have to go clunk" by Rickcomatic.
