so I bought my 82xj750 last week. The owner was a nice guy (I think) I am usually a good judge of character. anyway he sent me the title and it is a new one he had gotten in may 2009. He wrote a note in the envelope that said "It says 143,000 miles but that was a typo because I put a dash in front of 43,000 (possible that it was an innocent mistake as the guy did manage to spell my road wrong after I spelled it out 5x). I want to call the PPO to comfirm that the bike doenst have 143k on it, but his name isnt on the title, I do however have the number from the old title if that would help? Anyway I pulled my carbs and to my suprise the floats bowls, jets, and one of the intake parts (the male part that connects to the boot) is scored pretty bad from a half ass install on the clamp. The jets are easy to replace, but does it matter that the float bowls are scratched up? how about the intake port?

The Float Bowls on Carbs off Bike that Sat for a LONG Time usually are Scratched and Scarred from somebody working at Hardened sediment that was in there.

So long as they are CLEAN ... think of it as a Florentine Finish!

lol thats a relief. I am going to boil them in lemon juice. Scratches on the inside of the jets do matter though?
