First off, welcome to the site! Your bike proves that bobbers can be polished and CLEAN. Not a big fan of the green loom over the brake lines and spark plug wires, as it draws the eye away from an otherwise stunning build. I LOVE the paint! The front of the seat looks a bit awkward with the rear tank mount mount resting over it (only my opinion, which has a KBB value of about 15 cents). Sorry to tear you a new one on your first post, but you asked for opinions. If I were Siskel and Ebert (which I am by virtue of being schizophrenic), I would give this bike a strong 2 thumbs up. And I bet it will draw far more attention than that SWEET FXDWG in the background.

I like the bike! Gotta say ditto on those brakelines though.. I bet it'd look even better without that.

Very cool bike overall.. What kind of handle bars are on there? Little tough to make them out.

I think it's great... but have to agree with the others the brake line and plug wires draw to much attention away from the rest of the bike.... Maybe if they were darker to match the rest of the paint scheme it wouldn't draw so much attention???

    But welcome to the gang....

Well.. haha I bought the wire loom originally for that, and decided I did not like it so i put it under the hood of my s10 now haha. so you will be happy to know that it isnt on there anymore. it is back to black wire loom! When I got the bike, most of the frame mods were already done. Since I got it, I have did the body work on the painted pieces( tank beat up perty bad). As for the paint job. I had my girlfriends grandpa paint it for FREE! haha. It is some type of Kandy Green. As for the statement on the seat.. I dont care for the gas tank bolt to be hanging out with the seat going under it, but at the time.. it was nothing more than a Doo rag wrapped around a piece of metal so I just recovered it and repadded it. It has a little girls sweatshirt as a cusion when i got it! The handlebars.. are off an old dirtbike I have.. haha it had ape hangars on it and I did not like them so I went and pulled the handlebars off and old dirtbike. Once again.. I do not care for them, but at the time.. it was better then the ape hangars.. haha I have been looking for a decent setup for handlebars.. thinking about going with some drag bars, but haven't fully decided yet. I think I answered all the ?'s. Thanks for the replies! any advice on how to improve would be great!

You could start by giving the bike to me. That paint is simply awesome!

As for bars... Look for "GP touring bars" on ebay, seller is sportingforless I believe. Thats what I got for mine and I LOVE them. They are just a hair taller than drag bars will be and more back bend.

I have to say that is the best looking(non original) XJ paint job I have ever seen. Most of the ones I have seen just cant pull off the custom paint.

Nice bike! I like the paint. I had trouble finding bars I liked too. I ended up welding up a set of my own.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it! Thanks for tip on handlebars too. I was soo debating on what color I wanted to paint it, and I love lime green and i just searched on the internet for some designs and found a custom paint job i liked and went with it! I was debatiing on whether I wanted to keep it all flat black.. that was what it was originally. If i knew how to upload more pics.. I would show you guys.. only thing I know is this..http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/alb ... 502789588.. that is a link to my bobber build on facebook. it has all the pics for my xj build!

no clue on the size.. haha I still have them though. I think all they was were handlebars off a old school treadmill. Nothing special. PM me about them if you still want them and I can get you the measurements probably.

Love the bike.. Don't like the side panel, looks like a bit of steel scaffold flooring painted green.. You know the kind, with the ridges in.. Get some flat stuff, round the edges off (the corners look wrong when everyting else looks so curved) and continue with the paint job.. Just my HO..

I think your bike looks really nice.. If it were mine I would change two things
1-that seat has to go (springer seat??)
2-I would get a pair of side covers and paint them up to match it would really add that finished look to a very clean looking bike.
I'm not sure how it would look but maybe that same green color and a fine paint brush to fill in the yamaha on the engine covers?

    Looks good,
    James

I like the bike, I put a pair of cafe bars that I got from Mikes XS on my bike and it looks great, for the bobber you might want to use pull back risers for them but they would look awesome on your bike

    Welcome !!
I'd lift the mufflers a bit and re-do the seat.
Good job on getting rid of the green spaghetti !

    Love the bike dude.
Question: did you change your Master cylinder out when you changed the handlebars ?
It has enough slant that MAYBE the stock cylinder would work.
Want to change my bars but don't want to change the MC till the winter.
    Thanks
