    looks like you can see some de-lamination starting on the left hand side, can anyone confirm?

    That's what I was about to say-- although they do have some "meat" left, it looks like the leftmost corner of the lining is starting to peel away there, unless it's the shadow...

    Regardless; they're 28 years old, nearly worn out, and replacements are cheap.

    Fork boots are Kawasaki parts though; and it has Napoleon mirrors on it now, not the ones in this pic. Horns from England, luggage rack off eBay, headlight from the manufacturer; pretty much everything else came from Len.

    That's the '83? if it is i guess the 550's had single caliper. I feel like i'm looking at frame off restoration muscle car, I'm drolling over this bike. BTW, just got my bike running!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a red liner and never had a good running XJ till about an hour ago. I just had to throw that in there, gonna post it now. You're bike is absolutely Beutiful. Now I wanna see the other ones
