new lights won't flash???

    K so I ordered some new signal lights for my bike and I ordered one's with bulbs not led's so I wouldn't have to mess around with resistors and such but i plugged one in today and it doesn't flash?? it is a smaller bulb than original so I'm I gonna need resistors anyway??? how do I find out what resistor to use??

    If you don't want to mess around with resistors and you don't care about self cancelling just get an electronic flasher to replace the factory mechanical one.

    It would be just as easy to install a electronic flasher. You will loose the autocancel function unless you modify it. But your flashers will work. The current draw of the new bulbs is not enough to make the stock flasher work.

    You may still need to put in a load equalizer. I put new blinkers on the back of my bike and had the same problem because even though they were bulbs, they were smaller bulbs.

    wow!! thanks for the quick response!! I have no self cancel on my bike or I do and it doesn't work so I think I'll start with the flasher and see what happens, thanks for the advice I will keep you posted on how I make out.
