So i'm getting ready to pull my carbs and I realised i'll have to remove my tank, but wouldn't have a clue how to do it?

I'm assuming i have to drain the fuel? Where from?

What fuel lines and the like need to be removed.

It seems to be glossed over in most How To's, so i'm guessing it's easy, some pointers would be great.

    cheers

one of the easiest things to remove...

    1. remove seat

    2. remove single bolt holding tank in place (visable with seat removed)

    3. With a 2x4 peice of wood (about 2" if that) lift tank slightly and place under where the bolt came out.

    4. There's 2 lines going to the petcock. Leave it on "run" or "Res." not prime. (Prime leaves the petcock open and fuel will flow). With a pair of needle nose or very strong fingers, squeeze clamp together and slide back on hose. (Both, a. fuel line b.vaccuum line)
edit: now remove hose's from petcock and let dangle. (note they are 2 different sizes)

    5. Slide tank back towards the seat about 2" and lift up.

    6. Now place somwhere safe that it won't bang the petcock or leak fuel out the Gas cap.

    7. Re-isntall.. go backwards on insturctions.

The first thing you do is place the petcock ON, that stops the fuel from fowing.
Remove the seat. Disconnect the fuel lines (2)
There is a bolt holding down your tank, remove it. Slide the tank towards the back and lift the tank off.

So the fuel lines come off the petcock? or the petcock comes off with the lines and tank?

And I have to clamp the lines??

You have to disconnect the fuel lines from the petcock.
