Is their a better seat available for the XJ thats a bit more comfortable for riding. I have been riding a GTR with a Corban seat fitted, very comfortable and stops rider and pillion sliding back and forth into each other. I use a lambswool but still get a sore bum on long trips. What do other people use?

It really depends on your particular bum. Each person is built differently; some have narrow/unpadded ischial bones, others have different. Several articles written on the subject over the years and you can go here http://www.diymotorcycleseat.com/ to get more info. In short, I don't think any major aftermarket seat manufacturers (Sargent has received very good reviews; Corbin so-so) make a seat for any XJs any more, but you can get a custom shop to build you one using your seat pan.

Unfortunately, knuts is in OZ, and Sargent's is in Florida, here in the good ol' USA.

Getting the stock seat recovered and "up-foamed" or having the "riding platform" changed can work wonders. Sargent's has done two seats for me, one a stock "re-cover" and one a nice custom recontour job.

There must be an enterprise 'down under' that's in the same line of work...
