Master Cylinder Screws completely stripped

    Hello,
    I finally got my brakes connected, but now i see the master cylinder screw are completely stripped an dI cant get them out. If easy out them, can I find replacement screws somewhere, or will i have to order them? Thanks,

    A impact screwdriver will get thoes stuborn screws out if the head is still there. If the heads are broken off then you will have to drill and try a easy out. Most hardware stores have metric screws for replacement.

    Rather than an easy out you can just drill the head off, pull the cover, and remove with vice grips. I think a 5/32 or 3/16 bit is just about the right size.

    I've also had good luck using a really sharp LH drill bit (1/4"). When it breaks through the head it tends to grab and extract the screw.

    Just go REALLY slow with the drill, and you'll have it out quick. Fairly common problem, best solution is a stainless hex head replacement.
