    Bike fell over last night, and expecting the damage wasn't anything major until I started it and heard a flutter and slight miss.

    Found this on the right side, (by rear brake lever)

    How much of a pain in the keaster is it to remove mufflers and collector?

    And is this fixable? weld? Exhaust paste?

    Or would it be wiser to fabricate some sort of collector like (can't remember who it was) but they stretched their scoot and put on stripper poles for straight pipes and used copper as collectors to pipe. Would the copper hold out or would you have to paint it to make it last?

    Looking for ideas to which is the easist and prefferably cheapest.

    You could probably weld that if you're good at it. Rusted up and fairly thin to begin with will make it easy to burn through.

    Easiest and cheapest would be to just cut it off and ride!

    Since there is rust and soot in the crack, I'd say it has been there for awhile. The bike falling over just made it bigger. The pictures show lots of rust, the metal may be too thin to weld. But its worth a try. I would remove the exhaust system and look for more cracks and try to repair that one. A experenced welder with a TIG maching could repair it. You could try some muffler patch, that would only be a temporary fix. You should start looking for another exhaust.

    JB Weld might do the trick on that. just be sure to clean it first! I "fixed" a hole in my daughter's catalytic converter on her Ford taurus. It held for a few months. That crack is definitely smaller than the hold in the converter, so I'd give it a shot.

    I searched fleabay and nothing came up other then single muffler collector. the thing is, will they ship to canada....

    Muffler patch , thats what I was thinking, but then thought it would only be temp.

    Welding, blowing a hole through was my thought as well, it's pretty thin. as well nice and rusty.

    Been tempted many times to just remove it but then I'm thinking it's going to be tunning carb nightmare. All though I would enjoy it being louder then it is now. Get in with a patch of bikes during a ride and I can't hear it.

    Thanks for all suggestions, and hopefully they ship Can. side. then answer will be resolved easily =)

    Maybe if you took it apart and to a welding/speed/exhaust shop they could make you a replacement collector? Might be the best way to go. Or, if it isn't a PIA, I could get one of these exhausts and then ship it to you in canada? I don't mind helping you out.

    Cool, thinking get it off and see if it's able to save or not, (as mentioned take it to a muffler shop). If I need to have one ordered, I'll pm you and will go from there =)

    Thanks =)
