How are you laying the Gloss down? I would suggest a real spray job over a rattle can. Just got done with my first re-spray and it tuned out great!

Thanks for your service and good luck on the bike!

Goin with rattle can for now, it is a temporary job until I get the professional job done. I am almost done with painting the tank and I am about 70% happy with it, so yeah can't wait til I have the funds to get it done for good.

Ok so just got back from the vacation excited to work on the bike reconnected everything went to start it and..... nothing, it would click but nothing else. So I figured battery may be low and connected the charger for awhile.. came back out to try again and now there is nothing at all, no clicks or anything. What could have gone wrong between the first try and the 2nd? Thanks for any help guys.

Alright should have some updates on the maxim here SOON. Hopefully will start work on it next week. Its been a crazy winter which has taken away ALL of my long awaited bike time in the garage. Gotta have her ready before the weather gets nice enough to actually ride

Ok so I have decided that stupid people should not be allowed to work on motorcycles... When I purchased the bike I knew it had a small gas leak right below the tank. Whoever owned it before mehad decided a great fix to this was to throw a big glob of rubber glue and the hose comng from the tank. Amazingly there is still a leak. I ripped off the glue and tightened up the screws that were hidden by it and BAM whadya know the leak is gone.

But aside from that I got new spark plugs put in checked all my wiring and connections, and vroom she roars to life like never before.

Go to Dennis Kirk website for all your LED lights and fender needs. Also look thru their Harley catolog for a better selection of fender styles.

Well getting some more work done on my wonderful Maxim I decided that at least the first good carb cleaning will be done by the pros. And much to my excitment and joy the local yamaha shop by my house will clean and rebuild my carbs for the amazing price of only $100, gotta love small towns and the way they treat people. Plus all the mechanics in the shop are excited about anything "custom" I wanna do and will do what they can to give on the site advice.
