I recently bought an 82 Seca 750 that had been sitting for ~ 5 years. Instead of rebuilding the stock front master cylinder behind the headlight, I sugically removed the lever bracket and mounted a mastercylinder on the handlebars with braided steel lines to the calipers. It works great but now the pesky light comes on everytime it's started. I tried to jump the W/B wire to the ground but that didn't work. Has anybody successfully bypassed this sensor, or the battery sensor. Thanks

I recently did this on a xj1100. I replaced the front master cylinder with one off a virago 1100 and ran both front calipers off the front mastercylinder. Anyhow I beleive my wire coming from the sensor where W/B and Black. So I just jumped the W/B to the Black in the headlight. This kept the curcuit closed and kept my light off.

As for the battery sensor it requires soldering a resistor into a wire between your battery and the sensor wire. If you search the forms on this site for bybass battery sensor you will get a ton of useful information on how to do this.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks,

I had tried that, but the light stayed on. I checked the voltage on the W/B wire and it was only about 4VDC when the bike was running. I'll give it another shot and look for the battery info. Thanks for the reply.

thanks, but that doesn't get rid of the "Brake" LCD indicator on the system display, but it's a thought...

OK, i'm officially a DA, I re-attacked the jumper wire theory and took the time to check the connections. Sure enough they were pretty dirty. A good scrubbing and I jumped the W/B wire to the ground right next to it and the brake warning is history. Thanks for your help.

This is what you gotta do. Those warnings are only for fluid level, OK, the flashing red warning light was a huge mistake by Yamaha.
Open up the dash, it's not so hard to do, and REMOVE the bulb under the red lens. End of issue, end of irritation, useless/annoying idea discarded. :D
You can still read the LED warnings on the dash.
