we went to the hill climbs in Monson MA this past sunday. I was driving the Ford 460ci powered ranger and got bumped up into a nitrous class. we will have nitrous for the next race :D

we took third out of 8 in the drags. this vid is of us racing the only other non-nitrous truck there.

this video is of the "over the top" competition. we took 3rd in this as well. as this was my first time attempting the top with this truck, there was some driver error that caused some severely bent leaf springs, and an unseated front tire. i didn't let off enough to "roll" through the turn off lane at mid hill, and basically jumped the truck and lawn darted into the face of the hill. the front end bounced 3 times i hit so hard. oops!

note: the carb got too hot and was boiling fuel for the top run, you can hear it miss a few times. there was an unexpected delay and the engine temp got up to 240*f before we rolled into the lane. we will be putting a much bigger fan on it.

i would like to, but i think i will need to extend the swingarm 14" and get some knobbies for it. i dont see that happening anytime soon :)

there were a few kids there on 80cc or smaller bikes, a bunch of them had to stand on a milk crate while sitting on the bike and have a helper tap it into gear to get started! i dont think any of them made it over the top this time, too much fluff at the top.

Do you have any 460 parts to sell? I've been wanting to build the one in my truck. Right now it is stock and a little under powered for me. A few years ago I had a 73 Mercury with a 460 that I built up a little. The few inprovements I did made a huge difference in the HP. Wish I did'nt have to sell it.

WOW....that is just too cool. Looks like a lot of fun. I used to do hillclimbs on motorcycles in maryland back in the early 70s.

I confess Zookie, I'm a BBF fan. There is nothing like the feel of a big block under your right foot. I've been eyeing a 69 Lincoln with a 460, maybe its my next hotrod project.

i gotta admit, im a little scared of how far the owner is going to go with the nitrous. he is talking stages and more than a 250 shot total 8O

speed and light weight is the only thing getting you up that hill. 8430t would bury itself at the bottom of the steep part. even if it did make it, i dont think you could get a winning time with a tractor.

im waiting for the guy to load up the rest of the videos....the nitrous rigs can put on a good show!
