please help...xj650r no idle.. a little clueless

    Hello trying this again. Im in the middle of fixing a 1982 seca 650 for my father and im having a hard time with the choke and keeping it at idle. It will start if i have the throtle pegged and when i try to put on the chock it dies out.
    i have new plugs cleaned the carbs at least three times thinking i missed somthing but it all look fine. and it is now miss firing i think its poping when i rev it up. i checked for vacum leaks and there was nothing. any thoughts.. please help thanks .....

    Your carbs are probably way out of adjustment. Did you bench synch? Float levels correct (clear tube)? Where are your idle mix screws?

    Got it lol.. i went and checked for spark again and there was nothing in 1 and 4 i had a bad coil and some fould plugs... she starts and idles like a dream..

    So, you replaced the coil AND the plugs? Did you have an extra coil laying around or what?

    Yeah i picked up another bike for parts. A guy was selling one local for $200. it had alot of parts i needed so now i have another project in the works..
