I have a 1983 Yamaha 750 Maxim. It has been kept in nexcellant condition, never had any work done. Last fall it started acting strange when I would pull up to a red light and pulled in the clutch the idle would reve up to 4-5000 rpm. I assumed it was time to rebuild the carbs, so I had that done over the winter. Just got it back, fired it up and it does exactly the same thing. Adjusting the idle set does nothing. What am I missing? Something electronic?? HELP!!

Same issue with my 83 midnight maxim 750, and I think I found the air leak at my fuel pump, no air leaks any where else. I will see if this fixes it!
