It will take one person with any reasonable amount of funding to fight this and it will be overturned. You can definitely argue in court that an officer's ability to judge speed with any accuracy is negligible and not proof of anything.

It already made the Ohio supreme court. Not much farther it can go.

We have mobile speed cameras here in MD now. Only in construction zones and they send the ticket is the owner's responsibility not the driver. Last I checked cars don't speed on their own.

Oh except for toyota's Prius I forgot about them.

Here in Minnesota there is a radar cop on every corner and motorcycle cops sitting in between parked cars with radar guns. Here you can not even do any infraction of the law or your paying big time. I'm so sick of all of this goverment BS I'm getting ready to move out of this state.

The iceing on the cake was last week we had a parking cop give us a $108.00 dollar ticket for the month sticker in the wrong place on the licence plate that came that way from the DMV. Its been like that for three years since the truck was new and now its a big dollar ticket because a DMV worker was not paying attention and now I'm stuck with a fine. The DMV here mostly hires people that have english as a second language.
So if your from another country you would have a better chance of communicating at the DMV than someone who was born here in MN.

Pfft, you think that's bad? I got pulled over on my BICYCLE!!! The cop made a grand show of it, too. He blocked half a lane of traffic with his motorcycle, took down all my info and then got off his bike to make notes on the make and model of my bike, the color, as well as how many speeds it had (who knows why?) And now, I have a $200 ticket...

F the police, especially pissy cops with nothing better to do. They all act as crime clean up, not "law enforcement" or whatever it is they are supposed to do.

what were ya doin'....pedalling drunk, going the wrong way in a one way zone at night with no 'rub-against-the-wheel' generator? Or....was the baseball-card-that's-held-on-by-a-clothespin-and-buzzes-against-the-spokes too loud? Or.....maybe it was the little 'brriiiinnng-brriiiiiinnng' thumb-operated bell that annoyed him.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with the post about letting it go to court. He'll either not show up, and look foolish.....or he'll show up---and REALLY look foolish.

....and then there's the ones that SHOULD get a ticket-- this morning as I was getting stuff down to the car for going to work, I could hear a really strange hum very far away. I finally realized it was a diesel truck a bit down the road. By listening to the approach, the slowing for curves, etc.... I was able to figure out that I started hearing him about 3.5 mi to the south. Eventually he got close enough to see when he'd break past the tree line (sheesh was he loud now--sounded like the manifold had even come off, it was SO loud I could only describe it as purely RAW). As he went past the house, it was a dinky little motorcycle rocketing by. WTH!?!?!?! I waited to see just how just how long I could hear him. Well at about 3 mi I decided I had to get going. I could still here him ahead of me all the way to Sangerfield, 5 mi up the road. I stopped to get gas, and there he was at one of the pumps.......a harley sportster. I kept my mouth shut, but sure wanted to say, "you @#$%^!! Now my intruder may be a LITTLE on the loud side, but that was totally uncalled for.

That's really the rub isn't it! Your average Joe who made a mistake or hit 10mph over for a second or two gets the ticket while the white liner/traffic threading aggressive nut balls drive off into the sunset.

I got a speeding ticket (my second in 25 years) last month because I got sick of being caught behind two morons playing "stop the flow"(a semi and a cage running 8mph under the speed limit side by side for 20 miles) When I got the chance I passed and of course the cager decided it was time to race! I was doing eighty in a 65 zone when I got around him and settled back down to my normal 70MPH when I saw the blue lights over my shoulder in the rear views. Talk about pissed! what can you say? "Yeah I was doing 80 but did you see the other 2 retards?!"
