Thats what the security guard said when I came out to the parking
lot and found my bike on it's side

    JUST FELL OVER :!: :?: :?:

I said "bikes dont just fall over otherwise they would come up with
a better support system, so How the hell do you come to that conclution ?"

    He had none.

I can only hope he's an only child and the world is spared additional
    stupidity

One afternoon, I came out of the Pharmacy to find a young boy sitting on my bike and playing like he was racing.

The Bike was on the side stand. One false move and it goes-over.

I told the kid to get-off the Bike and never sit on a Bike unless he has permission of the owner.
His father told me to back-of and leave the kid alone ... he didn't hurt anything.

There is a set of people who think a parked Bike is there for their amusement.

Back off? what an idiot! He is prob the type to sue you if
the bike fell over and broke little jonny's leg.

    The damage was somewhat minimal:
1,ft t-sig bracket bent and a smashed visor, glad to have a spare.
2,I custom shaved the stock mirror to a nice small oval shape
I was very proud of how it came out,but again I have the other
side so I can re-shape that one.
3,small scratches to stuff like pegs/shifter and stuff.

The worst part was I just finished painting the side and center stands,
and ft peg brackets and various little spots and she was getting
very close to show room. My speed/tack buckets were almost pristine
and now there's a little scratch.

Also fuel on the gen cover that may need repainting.
If you look at my gallery and full page the pic with the blue paint
you'll see the most recent pic. Thank god next semester is when I
    airbrush on the flames.

i was lucky and caught it before it went over.

Side stand.about 11:00am so the ground was still hard, no wind,
I alwas park in the center of spaces to avoid car doors and i'm
glad for that because the schmuck next to me was on the line and
my bike barely missed his passenger door.
Whould't that suck? have your bike on it side and still have to
pay someone because it fell into them.

I came out of High School one day to find my bike on it's right side.
I had been parking on the center stand thinking it was more stable.

I always wondered who gave my bike a shove !

3 years ago I was out on a terrace and when I came out I saw a chinese man and his 2 kids on my Harley while the wife was taking pictures I lost it the kids actually started to cry and thats why I put crash bars. Another story just last year finish off my xj1100 carbs the whole 9 yards and take a drive to Ottawa we went out for supper with some friends and when I came back I said the bike is not quiet right so I went and it was kicked down from what the neighboor said to me some drunken kids walking on the street knocked it down nice dent on the tank and a bent brake lever I wanted to kill someone that night.... at least the neighboor put the bike up again on the stand

My dad's beemer went over once in a parking lot. He parked on the center stand on asphalt, and only one side sunk. I second the plate idea. I cut out a piece of 304 stainless in the shape of an MG and etched MotoGuzzi in it for my old sport. It was about 4" x 6" - worked great on any surface. (I had to park on gravel at work)

Side stand and plate is the way to go.

I use a plate under my side-stand as well - but just found these the other day so might have to get me one (the squirrel one for me)

wait- are you saying the asphalt melts when it gets how and the side stand sinks in?

and fabfabinc- i know what you mean... chinese people take a stupid amount of pictures and dont care what cost, even if they're being rude about it... it's aweful

    You're kidding, right! :D

Why people would disrespect someone elses property is beyond me. I would have asked that guy where his car was and started bouncing up and down on his rear bumper.

What? I'm not hurting anything! Haha!

i like this idea! if i ever caught somebody sitting on my bike i would probably lose it. i wouldnt be surprised if it already happened nobody in this city has any respect for anybody else, and there's lots of drunk people.

    kind of like these two:

If I came out and saw someone on my bike, I would take a before and after photo, before, him sitting looking all cool and after, with a black eye and broken nose. Just like on Sons of Anarchy, I'm overly protective of my bike, I've put a lot of work, blood and sweat getting it to where it is now, I don't need some ass on it trying to look like a biker.

I haven't had anybody that I know of sit on mine, but I did get my DH laughting his butt off in a restuarant not long after I got mine. We sat next to a window that we could see the bikes from. Two couples left the restaurant and one of the goobers acted like he was gonna get on my bike. I was already scooting out of the booth saying something to the affect of "you better not put your a$$ on my bike you maternal fornicator" My old man thought it was hilarious. I can be awfully mean when there's a wall between us!!! Lucky for the goober, he didn't follow thru and was just playin' I'd have hated to go out and shame the guy in front of his woman!!

I've been carrying a can lid in my pocket since 1972 for my side stand.
