Is a 1980 XJ650 worth 8k?

    Have a look at this bike before the listing link is dead.

    A blueprinted back-up race bike here in OZ, i know it's only Aussie dollars, but have you guys in the states seen a price tag like this on a custom XJ over there?

    Does it belong to a forum member that can share with us the customizations on it?

    Is that the original tank or XS?

    Looks like a Seca tank, I don't see 8500 AU. Thats 7500 USD. for that I could get a nice V-Max and couple of nice XJ's. I don't know if its worth it to a collector.

    A low-mileage, mint, showroom bike wouldn't bring a price like that.

    The guy has 0 feedback - which means he hasn't bought or sold anything on eBay before. He's no doubt hoping there is a world of cashed up idiots out there champing at the bit to buy an overpriced XJ650.

    Well about 10 years ago I sold Cars and I remember one of my Managers telling me, "Son...There's an azz for every seat on this lot. Now go match'em up and make some money." Looks like this guy has the same philosophy. If by some miracle it does sell for that price I want to know who buys it...I have some bridges and land claims that I need to bring to their attention.

    For the record, I'd take $7000 CDN for my 82 XJ650 :D BARGAIN! I didn't pay $7500 for my both bikes combined! Ahhh...to have time and money.
