So I picked up a 82 xj650 in great shape and running good and a 81 xj650 almost complete pretty beat parts bike all for 400 bucks...gotta love craigslist! My plan is to make a sweet bobber, problem is I have no idea what I'm doing. I am very handy and I love to tinker with stuff like this
so I'm sure with some help from this site I will come up with something pretty cool. I will post some pics soon.

Yea, there is 2 xj650s and one xj750 in my area for $500. One 650 runs the other is a complete parts bike not running. The 750 is parts. I do not have the time or area to deal with them right now but I would pick them up if i did. You should bobber the parts bike and ride the good 1. At least that way you can have some thing to ride while you build the new one.

Yea I am riding the good one for now till I have the other frame all ready to switch over. I actually just put some clubman bars on today, I love the look. Do I need to get shorter cables? Took it for a quick test around the block seemed to be fine. Will hopefully have some pics tomorrow.

When I ran clubman the cables were to long. Also watch for them hitting the tank. I think if you position them right they don't but I haven't had mine on in a while.

Oh, that listing is on the Florida, Orlando area. Search Maxim. It is in appoka.

Yea they get pretty close to the tank but they don't hit. I want to get shorter cables but I'm not sure what or were to get them.

It had 52k... wow. It says it was garage kept, and in mint, but I could say that about my bike. My bike hangs out in all weather.

Chacal has what you need I think. I haven't looked in a while but I thought he had cables you could order by length. He has about everything needed for your bike.

Just went through the catalog and there isn't one, but there is some where you can order them by length I thought.

I'm in Essex. I've got some shop space with most all of the tools you'd need. I'm not a bike expert but I know my way around.
