Help with radiator leak

I just replaced the thermostat in my 1985 XJ700X. I went out and rode it for about 15 minutes, parked it, let it sit for about 2 minutes, and then I noticed that it was very slowly dripping radiator fluid from the bottom of the exhaust pipe. I started it up again and let it run on idle for about 5 minutes. White smoke started coming out from the exhaust for about 2 minutes before it finally stopped. I checked around the bike and noticed that there were no other wet spots near the thermostat or any of the hoses, it seems that it is just coming from the bottom of the bike. Can anybody help point me to what may be wrong?

 

I don't have a radiator on my bike, but in general to find a leak in the radiator itself you either look for coolant bubbling out when the engine is good and hot, or drain it, cover it in soapy water, and slightly pressurize it and look for the bubbles. For the hoses and connections you can spray soapy water on them while it's running.

Make sure it isn't just some extra that you spilled when changing the thermostat though

 

doesnt sound good if its bubbling and your getting white smoke out of the tailpipe sounds like you have a cracked head it could be a gasket.im not sure if the system has to be bled never had to do it. but bubbles and boil over usually means gasket or head cracked especially with white smoke . when the system is full and you get exhaust in it it pressureizes the system blows it out the overflow sometimes with a cracked head the crack wont open up til it gets hot. do you know anyone that can do a sniff test on the radiator to see if exhaust is present hopefully im wrong
