I have a query for the Aussie bikers.
Have any of you bought the XJCD?
    How did you pay?
I was recently told by Aus Post that they don't do international money orders anymore.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks

Skeeta..I went to th bank and bought a Canadian $10 note, had to wait a day or so 'til they got it and sent it off in th post in good faith and about 3 weeks later th CD,s arrived. That was th cheapest way I could find to do th deal.

    Hey Gents,

I got my XJCD via one of the Kiwi XJer's who was authorised to sell them in this hemisphere. I paid him via PayPal I believe.

Now onto more pressing matters. I've found my front left damper piston (the piston on the front forks which takes the brake fluid into the forks for the anti-dive mechanism on the XJ900) is cracked. The end result is that I can't build up any pressure in my front brakes.

    Anyone have any opinion on

    1) Whether I could bondo it or similar and get enough pressure
    2) Any recommendations for a place where I can get a part, or
    3) Most expensive option - where I can get a reconditioned set of forks?

Of my two usual wreckers, one went out of business and the other has no parts available.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Bondo+brakes= bad, I reckon. When Wizard was doing up his 900's I'm fairly sure he got some parts from a bloke in NZ 'Alive' try a PM.

Ok as an emergency fix, remove the brake hose going to the anti-dive valve, this can be done by using the short banjo bolt from the anti-dive end of the hose and using it to replace the long banjo bolt that was used to go through both hoses. (leaving the short hose off)

Can't think of the name at the moment, (the link is on my work PC) their is an online parts search which emails all the wreckers and they email you direct back if they have the part. There is a couple of XJ's being wrecked in Oz that probably would have what you want. do a bit of googling. I don't have access to forums via work, and i'm on the road this week, but i think Liverpool motorcycle wreckers was one of them.

Thanks for the feedback on the XJCD.
I have had a response from Dwayne who supplies it & he says he is happy to accept $10 AUS as payment. So I'll be sending the cash this week.

Thanks for your assistance guys. In the end, I couldn't find anyone in Australia with the part I am after so I'm going to order it from Chacal. He has always come through for me in the past.

    Cheers,
    oby

    Hi all,
New XJ650 owner from central QLD.

Have any Aus owners bobbed their xjs? I am having a rather bad time trying to argue my mods to QLD transport/'approved persons'.

    Hi all
I have a quick question for the Aussie XJers.
Do any of you know where I might get a replacement windscreen for my '84 XJ900?
Mine has seen better days. I made the mistake of removing it yesterday and almost all the screw holes have cracks &/or pieces broken out.
Although I have done a quick repair it's not the prettiest thing at the moment.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Skeeta,
There is Eagle Fairings over her in WA (http://www.eaglescreens.com.au/) but there is also a place on your side of the country... I rang them to get a price and the lady I spoke to told me to send my old fairing screen and they'd copy it and send a new one back.
    Looking for the name...
I think it was AJ Plastics (https://www.ajpm.com.au/) but I haven't gone ahead with either yet so I can't give you a review.
    Hope it helps though.
