That's a 1982 XJ650RJ Seca.....rare, one year only in North America, rough shape, but it looks like most of the parts are there......

I has potential, just remember you will have to invest another couple hundred dollars to get it road ready.
    Tires 200
    battery 50
    carb kits 100
fluid changing (oil, brakes, forks) 50
misc parts ( fuel filter, seals, brake pads, whatever) 100
It could get prety deep from there

I think Im going to buy it. The owner hasnt emailed me back yet, but its fourth of july haha. I really want to make it into a cafe racer, so Im sure it will be a long project, but at least want to get it on the road by september for a 10 mile commute to school.

Richie-Welcome to the site and all things XJ. I would buy it for $200 in a heartbeat running or not....a year ago I wouldn't have but the information is here and I have never found anyone who is unwilling to help. The worst answer you will get here is a "I don't know"....but most times you just need a little patience and everything will come clear. Also, the "Search" function is a great way to pass the time making sure the answer to your question isn't already out there in some form. Also a quality manual or bench reference guide is a must. Welcome again and have a happy 4th.
