    shorts, a t-shirt, and a 493# motorcycle...it doesn't fit well and is generally uncomfortable.
it was a beautiful day when i left the house and went left to go to a friends house (he lives 30 miles away). got caught in the rain 10 miles in (not typically a big deal, though waterlogged). 5 miles later i was braking coming into a corner and was a bit over-zealous with the front brake...washed out and down we went. first i was on top and then she was on top and then i was on top again then she threw me off (reads like a swanky "penthouse forum" letter don't it)...
anyhow, as got her back on the rubber a woman pulled up to see if i was ok and offered me a band-aid (she was notibly more shaken than i was...said she too was a cyclist and had dumped her harley earlier this season).
i told her i was fine (as i type this i'm a bit stiff and scuffed up and am dreading my 0600 wake up call) and i barely got my bike started again and limped it into the parking lot of a party store and she followed to make sure i was ok where my bike promptly died.
i smoked a butt to chill out and survey the damage.....shredded my shorts and t-shirt scuffed my right muffler, right front turn signal, broke the glass of the right mirror, and bent my crash bar. i tried to start it and it wouldn't have any part of it..just start for a few seconds, run very pooly and then die.
i smelled gas and then noticed gas pouring out of the overflows (at some point during all the excitement my floats stuck open)....tried punching the #1 and #4 carb bowls and it was still pouring out..laid it down on both crash bars and then ultimately shook the snot out of the bike and finally got the geiser to stop.

so, there's my evening in a nutshell.
do be more careful than i was and do ride safe.

I got hit by a drunk driver year and a half ago. I wasnt wearing my leathers and got mad road rash on my back. Now ask me if I ever ride my bike without my leathers after that? I think you know the answer...

    Safe riding to all.

I've seem to have become a magnet for inattentive or aggressive SUV owners lately....... not a pleasant feeling
