Maxim X - Triple tree - Removal

    Hi..If i just need to swap only the Triple tree..whats the deal..Can i just remove the wheel, fork brace, loosen the pinch bolt..and will the triple tree slide out..or is it attached to the steering stem..I read the XJCD and isnt clear for me. Thanks in advance.

    I believe that once you strip everything off it, you loosen and remove the nut that holds the triple tree. Then the triple tree should slide down and out the bottom of the neck downtube. You might have to tap on the triple tree to loosen it from the top bearing assembly. At least that's what I did when I took mine out.
