I recently bought a kickstand, but the spring that came with it and the metal bracket are for the kickstand safety switch. I need the long spring that is not for the safety switch, so it runs from the kickstand to the mount post without a bracket. I will be willing to trade my spring setup for someone who has what I need or I will be willing to sell mine. Thanks.

I've been in and out of alot of hardware stores lately. You might find a spring that will work, or maybe a tractor supply will have something.

Do you think Ace might have it?

Try other bikes sidestand springs, you just need to know the length of the spring when the stand is up. There's laods for sale on fleabay.

I found one at Ace Hardware for about $1.15. Works great!

Glad you found one that works, I think that I spent about 6 hours total looking around the hardware stores for misc. parts. Glad someone else could benefit from it too.

I didnt have to spend too long on it. I kind of just eyeballed what I thought it should be. Since I had to make a kickstand mount from scratch, I didnt really have too much of an idea what to look for. So I got one and didnt feel it was tight enough and went back and got a stiffer one. Problem solved! I could probably find the part number for Ace if anyone wants it?
