    I have a 4-1 exhaust, but I want a 4into2 exhaust. I'd be interested in trading for:

    1. the whole exhaust system
    2. or a good pair of mufflers
    3. or a good set of 4 header pipes

    I just don't like the 4into1 exhausts. I'd prefer originally equiped 4-2.

Header needs either repaint or 'blasting and re-coating, muffler is decent but back edge is slightly flattened. I'll try to find time to round it back out if time permits.

Let me know what you might have.

    Thanks,

    Dave Fox

Stock exhaust parts for our 900's are getting moore rare with each passing day.

I drove a couple of hours to a place which had a whole system for sale for $250.00

When the guy walked me out-back to show me the 900 System hanging on a fence by the Exhaust Collars, ... I had everything I could do to contain my anger. Calling it JUNK would have been a compliment.

    I have a big 5-gallon water-cooler jug.
Its my Piggy-Bank for the System I'm saving-up for to put on my 900.

Rick, that looks nice, but it's still a 4 into 1.

I heard a German company made a stainless system, but can't find the link now- -

A "fantasy" system I dreamed up involves the Turbo head pipes, flat stainless collector, and some custom pipe-work that mimicks the Turbo cans and re-uses the aluminum Turbo end pieces, all custom fit to my 900. ( I have a Turbo exhaust).

I bet I can have someone do it for less than $500 in this economy.

    It's a 4:1 that FITS!

    NO Rejetting
    NO Oil Change hardship
    Center Stand retention
    Stainless.

I saw a picture of it in their Gallery Pages.
I made the Bike look pretty.

I just want to dream about it, ... anyway.
The last time I spent Big Bucks for Bike Parts ... I got a set of KONI Shocks (when they were KONI's) ... and my Old Lady nearly fainted at what they cost.

Does anyone have experience with the Jama slip-ons? That is the closest thing to stock I have seen.

    Re: XJ900RK - trade 4-into-1 exhaust, I want a factory exha

MAC says their 4-1 exhaust fits all 650/750/900 XJs; how much difference is there between the 750 Seca and the 900? I know the same exhaust manifold gaskets are used between the 550-900 XJs, FJ/FZ600/700/750, Seca II, Radian. Any of these exhausts fit with minor mods?

    Re: XJ900RK - trade 4-into-1 exhaust, I want a factory exha

look for my post on changing exhaust. i fitted a mac 4 into 2 on my 84 750/900 seca, it took a bit of fiddling but i got it on and sounds great.
but after over 12 months of constant use the headers have gone from blue to rust/scale and so i have acquired a set of factory header pipes that will be going on with the collectors from the mac system to 2 new polished stainless oval cans. and if they sound half as good as what i heard on a kwaka 750 (well orgasm city here i come)

    There's a difference.
You don't need much of difference to have it not fit.

The difference between the 750 and 900 is the way the Pipes are separated --> On Centers <-- at the Cylinder Head Exhaust Ports and the Contours of the Header Pipes to Match-Up with the Inlets on the Collector.

I tried to get a set of 750 Header Pipes to fit on the 9oo while I sent the 900's out for new Chrome.
It didn't help that the 750 Pipes were off a Midnight and weren't marked.

But, no matter what I did, I couldn't get them on the 900, so the Chroming got scrubbed because the 900 was my dailey rider.
