front brake not bleeding

The front brake on my 81 maxim 650 felt a little spongy and wasnt grabbing as it should so I decided to bleed the system out of the old fluid and replace with new fluid.
I started bleeding by sqeezing the brake handle about 4-5 times then, while squeezed, opened up the bleed screw on the caliper. The first few tries, nasty brown fluid came out. After about 5-6 bleedings, no fluid at all was coming out. I did make sure that I was adding fresh fluid in the reservoir while doing this.
No pressure at all on the brake lever, tried pumping several times, still nothing coming out. I undid the banjo on the reservoir side, and did feel a little bit of pressure when putting my finger on the hole and squeezing the lever.
I also tried undoing the banjo on the caliper side, did feel a little bit of air coming out but still no fluid at all.
I also tried squeezing the lever with the reservoir open, i would have expected to see fluid gushing out, but nothing...
Is it safe to say that I need to rebuild the MC, and maybe even get a new line?
Or I also read in other posts that using a vacuum pump or even keep trying to bleed will eventually get the pressure going again...
Any words of wisdow will be greatly appreciated ...

 

You have explained the symptoms perfectly.
Your Master Cylinder has failed.

Order a Rebuilding Kit and install it.

There's NO Black Magic. No try this or that or hook-up a Vacuum.
When you undid the Banjo and found the Master didn't pump, ... that was it.

Call-up all of your Master Cylinder's friends and family.
Give them the sad news.
You called-it at 11:28PM.

While I'm at it I'll go ahead and replace the break line too.

I would order stainless steel brake lines as well....

I just ordered a set from him to replace my 30 yr old original rubber brakes lines.....you will get much better results from new lines....

When I cleaned my rotors mine would not bleed either sooo... after cleaning the bleed screws I attached a 2 # air pressure to the master cyl to help move the fluid to the bleeders. Worked like a champ too.

 

The LINK to the Rebuilding D-I-Y Instructional shows you what you have to do.

Save the Dust Boot.
You don't get a new one with the Kit.
Make a Tool to Pull the Dust Boot.
Heat and Bent a right angle on a large finishing nail.
Flatten-out the tip after you bend it.
Quench the heated nail in cold water to harden it.
Sneak the Nail in the opening and "Lever-Out the Dust Boot.

No. That part is called the: Reservoir Diaphragm
