no spark on all 4

    multimeter reads 3.1 on coils primary .but on secondary multi reads 1 .is this allowable or are coils bad .guy before me took fuse box out and wired everything together,i have put fuse box back,[new one].the trigger coils read 650 ohms. checked clutch lever switch ok, kickstandswitch ok,neutral switch ok,key switch ok.getting 12 .5 volts when key is on and only 8.5 to 9 when cranking with plugs out. 1 year old bat with charger hooked to it ,bad starter? ign mod bad? 81 550 maxim any help greatly appreciated

    something's wrong, either with the scale on the multi-meter or ???

    Too low. Battery is not fully charged or cannot hold the charge (no load capacity).

    Battery should read about 12.8-13.2 volts when fully charged......

    thanks , that was my lawnmower batt. so i should buy one specifically for the bike. the bike only has 10,000 miles but i would like to see if i can get it to run before i put to much money in it.
