Trying to wire taillights, brake lights, blinkers together..

I'm late to this party....

I have those same rear lights and the trailer harness like the one from johno8's link. I replaced the little bulbs with 1157's and the stock flasher and auto cancel work perfect with the 1157's.

 

Do your blinkers stay on with the brakes applied?

 

sure do. The 1157's fixed it.

The way I figure it there wasn't enough current when the box got involved with the brake/turn work.

 

You have the exact lights? Aren't 1157's too tall to fit in there? Wouldn't they hit the lens?



UPDATE: The converter I ordered from signal dynamics works, but you have to use the dual load equalizer as well, which comes with it.

 

After a closer look, No I don't have those exact lights. I have the custom chrome ones which look exactly like that but have a bigger bulge in the lens. I could see how 1157's would hit your lens.

Yeah, I'm glad I got it figured out too. Reason I asked about the 1157's is because when I had the regular trailer harness hooked up I was trying to figure out why it wasn't working and I took a bulb out of one of the lights and broke it. I couldn't find a replacement bulb at O'reillys yesterday, but I'm gonna try a few places today.
