OK, noon (lets say noon - to - oneish) at Tim Horton's in Port Dover.

WHERE exactly is it? I'm working with MapQuest and the Timmies website, and seeing "1 Andrew St." off Main St. right before Walker St. just west of the river.

That we could easily find on a "normal" day, but not necessarily in all the insanity.

Where is it in relation to the part of town that's barricaded off?

Any way to "sneak up on it" from a side route?

C'mon locals, help us touristas out here.

Tims is at the bottom of the hill to the left. The flow of people walking will head that way. There are venders and food wagons there. Hope to meet you at the frount for Tims I will have a white XJ BIKE bike shirt on with matching hat.

can't miss it, there's oen gas bar/varity store in the middle of the main intersections, and tims beside it. Once you roll in, you'll more then likely end up passing it while looking for a parking spot.

    Hosers.

"Bottom of the hill to the left" just helps IMMENSELY. And I'm not concerned about "missing it" I'm concerned about getting to it in the first place.

From this map http://www.pd13.com/pd-map.html it looks like it's right at the eastern edge of the closed off area.

For you more experienced with the whole situation, would it be better to run around town and come in from the east, or will the heaviest traffic flow be down from Hwy 3?

Fitz - you're worrying too much about this! :)

The town closes the central part to automotive traffic, so only bikes and emergency vehicles are allowed in.

The real trick is that some years, they've restricted entry to one direction (usually from the west), and exit as well (usually to the north). This is all local highway 6 we're talking about, locally referred to as "Main St" to the west, and "Walker St/Hamilton Plank Rd" to the east/north.
We have no idea if they're going to do that this year or not -- so you may not have a choice about which direction to come from.

I've always found that even though it's amazingly crowded, you can almost always find a spot even right 'downtown' if you try. ONE spot - if you're traveling in a group and want to park together, forget it. Side streets are much more likely to find parking, and if you don't mind walking, parking further away makes it easier as well.

Walking from Chapman St intersection down to Timmies is only about 10 or 15 minutes, even with the crowds for example.

Timmies is right on the south corner of Hwy 6/Walker St & St Andrew St.

Excellent. Thank you, that does help. We'll see how it works out if I come into town from the west then.

Bigfitz52 what Road are you going in on? If you stop in at my place there may be a side road in from my end thats open. The local papers are calling for 150,000+ peoples this Friday in Dover. Weather looks good calling for Sun Cloud and Hot. Chane of rain due to daytime heating but it usually misses us. If you stop in look for the driveway with all the red vehicles, 2 cars, and an 1983 3/4 GMC picup with a really mean dog tied to the bumper. She likes to eat strangers. I'll be the old fat fart drinking beer and sitting in my chair watching the bikes go by. My bike will be in the driveway to, at the end near the road.

OK boys if anyone going to Port Dover on Friday 13 and are traveling in the area of Turkey Point on Front Road I'm in Normandale. If you are traveling from the west on Front Road I am the second house on the left after the creek/stream. There will be a red 1983 3/4 ton GMC pickup in the driveway probably an 2003 red Grand AM, if the wife is not out shopping again, and or a dark red Dodge Neon/2.0 and my bike.
All are welcome to drop in say howdy use the washroom stretch your legs, get a drink of water or something and do some mechanical tinkering if needed. You are welcome anytime of the day as long as its before midnight, I need my beauty sleep. The old fart with the mean dog is me. I'll have the dog tied to the rear bumper of the truck.
So we are looking forward to meeting some of you fellow XJers.
