    Hello again,

So I've fix a few issues with my seca 550, but I'm at the point where I want to fix the front brake lever. For some reason the lever seems to be very very stiff and I would need to pull it down very hard to engage the front brakes. I'm not sure if this is typical for these older style bikes, since this is the first one I've owned, but it's nothing like the newer bikes that stops on a dime.

Any suggestions? I was thinking about just switching out the brake lever assembly with the master cylinder with a new bike with a 7/8 bar. Would that be an issue?

bleed the brake lines, check the pads and rotors.

only problem with that is, the bolts to the master cylinder seems to be stripped. I guess I'll try my impact driver and try to take it off later today.

You could have a clogged or mostly clogged brake line. Open the bleed screw on the caliper and squeeze see if you get some fluid.

i have the same thing. I bled the brake lines and then took the cover off after much coercing and a screw extraction kit.

I was thinking the same thing, but thought I'd get some info before I attempt to fix it =)

Did you replace the screw with some random screw from a local hardware store?

you should be able to find the either the screws for the lid or the handle bar clamp at a home depot.
