New to the XJ line, picked up a great running 550 for 250 bucks, but the front brake master cylinder cover screw are frozen and looking for a replacement! Any suggestions on where to get one or possible substitutions would be very much appreciated...really getting tired of the bus!

is it just the screws that are messed up? welcome to the site. I would take a look around at some of the maintenance stuff you should do. Considering how old your bike is, its better to be safe than sorry. As for the master cylinder I had screws that were completely stripped. I used a screw extraction kit, and then brought what was left to home depot and got two new ones.

Well they are frozen and stripped. rest of bike is solid, just no front brakes. Not new to cycling just new to trying to revive a old bike!
