I've got an 82 seca XJ 750 R. It is a canadian bike but did not come with an oil cooler.

I purchased a used 650 turbo cooler and adapter plate. Got the cooler installed, changed the oil/filter, and refilled with specified 5.9 pints. Actually, I splurged and put in 3 qts.

The oil level only came up to half the sight glass with bike on center stand. I fugure the cooler must be accounting for some volume. I put another 4ish oz in and the level is at the top of the sight glass.

    1. Does anybody know the oil capacity with the cooler?

    2. The turbo model cooler is more square and hangs in line with the top of the cylinder head. Could this cooler be blocking air flow to the head?

    Thanks, Greg

Another question added to the others...
Will the extra 4 oz. do anything detrimental to the motor function. Maybe sucking too much oil mist into the airbox?
