OK, so it took me all day to get to PD13 from the ferry boat in Sombra at 8:30am.

    It was worth it.

Next PD13, I will go; to be there for a few hours, be counted, be part of it... for a minute.

But then I'm outta there. The coast is such a fantastic ride.

Check this out: (groundhugger gave me one of the maps) http://www.cruisethecoast.ca/ download the map and check it out.

Anybody in Michigan, New York or anywhere in southern Ontario has got to do this route; the Ontario south coast.

A few pics; unfortunately I can't post the ones from the beach at Port Burwell.

Marine City, MI waiting for the ferry. One van and me; then 28 Harleys and 3 FZRs showed up. One more car too, that was the boatload.

Lunchtime, the fleet is arriving back in port with their catch...

For me it was an absolutely incredible 420 mile jaunt; I had a blast and WHAT RIDING!!! EXCELLENT ROADS compared to the States, just top notch even back roads. Except for having to ride like a 5-speed for two days and the "interesting" Canadian petrol, everything was flawless. No surprises from the Comfort Inn in St. Thomas, as expected.

PD I'll discuss in a different thread.

GO RIDE THE COAST!!! I think I'm going to do it again in early-mid September.

Amazing Pics, and glad you enjoyed. One thing you have to watch out for when riding that route or anything south of hwy#3 adn along the water, when it starts to get dark, you'll be attacked by a zillllllion little freak'n bugs, it will look like your wearing a fur coat, on your bike!

You can email me those port burwell pics ;) LOL

i got one of those cool maps myself. pretty neat with all of the routes laid out...

i had 406 miles (plus the ride down to marine city from fort gratiot) over friday and saturday...

we hit the ferry at about 745am friday and ran hwy 40 up to 402 into london, dumped our crap and then headed down to PD. it was about 2 hours into the mayhem...

i had an absolutely fantastic time with the gang i was with and i agree, another ride in the fall should be fabulous...

    thanks for the pics...

HMMMM.....Port Burwell? Where you at one of them nudest camp beaches? Theres one just west of Dover that I know of. Interesting Petro = gas from back road gas station topped up with water.
I'm in Fort Gratiot/Port Huron about every other month. My son and his family moved to Sarnia after his last rotation from Afghanistan. Hes talking about going back for one more tour. Anyway we are there lot my wifes favorite place is the Golden Corral Restaurant.

Lt You gotta ride the coast. Over by Ground-Hugger's place the road is like a roller coaster, the "u-turn" sign in Lostboy's avatar is on the coast road over that way.

The whole route is a complete charm.

Your exactly right bigfitz all other roads in southern Ont. are pretty flat and straight. I love riding the coast. It’s a lot cooler in the summer near the water. That curve is tight 1 st gear up hill. But if go the other way it’s down hill. A lot of fun.

Yeah. Fun. The first time I hit it going west I was two-up on the Norton with full packs and camping gear probably well over GVWR, and it was drizzling.

Got flat sideways. Didn't crash, possibly peed self (hard to tell, raining.)

    Fun.

Dave got some nice pics of your bike, BTW, posted in the PD13 pics thread.
