Hey everyone, i've been debating running full synthetic oil so I thought I would post to get everyone's input. If anyone is running it which brands are you using? Mobile 1, Royal purple, Amsoil ect. I run mobile 1 in my truck, but with the amount of abuse i give my seca  and the dark(black) color the oil always gets I was thinking about giving her a treat, thoughts?

I run Honda synthetic, have for 14 years in my maxim. It's in the upper 50's in miles most I put on and that little red area on the tach, it sees that. Still runs like a champ. I even use Syn. oil in the diff. well I put it in last 8 years ago still looks like new. And with syn. I have pushed my oil changes further, being that my bike gets 600 miles a week put on it.

first rule of thumb. if oil goes longer and stays clean. IT'S NOT DOING IT'S JOB of cleaning the engine. dirty oil is a sign it's cleaning the engine.

you go 5000 miles and the oil still looks new. that's a lot of dirt not being cleaned out. i change every 1500 miles and my oil is blacker then black.

i use penzoil synthetic. i don't think it really matters what brand anyone uses anymore. it's all in the persons preference. i've always been a penzoil man.

i've seen various results in other brands.
how fast the oil gets dirty
or oil that DON'T get dirty
i've even seen oils that make the engine run hotter and oil pressure to be lower. i'ven even changed one once that looked like watery oil with lumps in it.

when it comes to motorcycles though. some bikes just don't do so hot with convention oil. they absolutely have to have synthetic

Yes the oil in the diff looks like new with many miles. Engine oil is meant to lubricate the engine not clean it. Gasoline engines burn very unclean. For me a new oil change is by the site glass dirty as soon as I start the bike. If I changed my oil every 1500 miles I would be doing that every 2 weeks. Ahhhhhhhhh NO. Gas engine's are dirty they need the change because the oil becomes acidic and starts to eat at the bearings being that they are of a softer metal. I ride too much to change that often it would be to time consuming, anyway oil from one to the other doesn't matter I just like the Honda oil it has served me well being that I ride my bike hard.
