Do '85 xj700 and '81 xj650 have the same exhaust?

    I want to change the exhaust pipes. the original ones are quite damaged. This is what I found out on ebay:

    I wonder if it would fit my motorcycle ('81 xj650) without any modifications, they look pretty much the same
    Is there any exhaust you recommend, I'm looking for something at least as quiet as the original one, the quieter the better.

    Well if you got the cash I would suggest buying the correct pipes for about $300. Unless the xj700 pipes are are great fit I think that $150 is a bit steep. Not to mention that the older and used mufflers will probably be louder then the new ones just because of use.

    As far as if they will fit or not I have no idea, but I'm sure if you get creative you can make them fit but thats up to you.

    no, they won't fit. How mint are you looking for? Are we talking functional yet not perfect or??

    I've got a mint exhaust, but it's on my baby

    Xj700N and X are interchangeable.

    I have some extra parts if you pm me, I'll check. Couple bucks and shipping and they are yours.....
