I am going to be making an ad for the factory fairing and bags setup and I wanted to see if anyone knew what other bikes this setup would "fit". This one is an 83 Maxim 750.

    Thanks!!!

That appears to be the factory "X-1" fairing (a/k/a "The World's Largest Fairing") and although the same fairing was available on a number of different models, the attaching brackets are unique to each model bike that it was used on. Same for the luggage....same bags and trunk, but mounting hardware is unique for each bike.......

Okay, so this will only "bolt on" to Maxims? Or is this something that fits 82-85?

Am I better off selling it as a luggage package for yamahas in general with free brackets to fabricate for fitment?

I sure would like the saddlebag guards! Take a look at my xj650maxim in my gallery. You'll see a virtually identical setup, but I've not seen the guards before....have always thought it would be nice to have set though when I see on ventures, and other bikes.

Len's right; that same package was an option for the XV920 Virago at the time and I believe even for the Excess Eleven. I know the big Virago for sure because a friend of mine had one.

The bags WILL fit on an xj650, it just takes a little fabricating of some simple brackets. Take a look at the xj650 full-dress maxim in my gallery to see what they look like on a 650. If you have questions then, pm me and I'll try to answer ya!

What will it take to keep you from hacking up a beauty like that? I've got an 82 Max 650 that I would not feel the least bit guilty about seeing it hacked.

    hahaha About $1300.

sorry i must have misunderstood. I thought you were looking to sell the bags and the front fairing, not the bike.

That $1300 was pointed at Robert. Tony, as for a price for the bags and fairing...I think ebay will figure that one out. I will let you guys know when I put them up next month. Figure like $250+.

Re: OEM Fairing and hard bags, what year/models do they fit

Getting information on this fairing and bag combo has been rough....seems like these are a tad bit hard to find. I was hoping to find out from the factory info how many models this OEM unit "could" fit. Seems to me I will just have to advertiseit as "fitting" an 83 Maxim , but not limited to.

I have the shocks, gauges, side covers, fender etc for sale in the appropriate section at least. The fairings will be there soon enough!
