"the runner" resurrection (pic heavy)

    this is my 1980 yamaha xj650 i call her "the runner" hoping to turn her in to a bobber. never touched a bike in my life been fixing cars for a while thought i take on this project. so if i labeled anything wrong please teach me and let me know.
    The day i got her

    Deconstruction begins remove the whole wiring harness

    got rid of all the lights and signals to make my own

    this is the connector for the clutch lever i think

    dont know what this is

    got the ignition

    wiring for start button and kill switch
    [​IMG]
    got rid of the speed cable and the signal and lights wires
    [​IMG]
    looks much better

    got rid of the air intake box because it was broken, plan to get some cheap little intake for them later.

    the wires for the alternator

    Dont know what this is called but i think the connected to the starter button

    can some one tell me what these two wires are for?

    Anywho, motorcycles are referred to as "her" right?

    I could be wrong. But something about riding "him" could seem a bit .... off?

    yeah now that i think about it lol im plaing on bob the crap outta this bike pretty much just engine trans lights and thats it, no speedo no tach no paint, i think im going to wire brush the whole bike and clear paint it to give it a metal look

    i got a haynes version on my compute, but im trying to make the simplest wiring diagram i just wanna make it a runner nothing fancy.

    search here for "minimal wiring" I saw a diagram before.

    I was more concerned about your questions on the diff's fill hole and vent and the oil fill cap.
