It might fit (although it is already tight on the swing arm) but it's not really a good idea.

We talked about this recently with regards to a Seca ( 120-?-18 ) rear tire... the real issue is that the tire might fit on the rim, and it might fit between the swingarms - but it almost certainly will be pinched making the profile of the tire much more angular than it was supposed to be.

This does a number of things, most of which are negative. Surprisingly, the contact patch really doesn't get much bigger ( the pinching makes it very similar in size to the smaller unpinched 130 width tire)... It changes the handling characteristics of the bike as well... generally for the worse. It weighs more ( more unsprung mass, more mass to accelerate) and costs more.

So, with this in mind, I'd have to say that it is a bad idea... and perhaps to some extent dangerous. Certainly from a performance side of thing there are very few pluses.

On the other side of things - it will be a pinky finger wider than stock which might compensate for the negatives ;)

    Cheers,
    woot.

Nope. Tried this on my XJ 750K and it rubbed the swingarm. I found it after the offending section of tire rubbed away. Left a nice flat spot all along the sidewall. Didn't hurt the bike or the tire but did make me uneasy.

Don't have pics since I put the tire on back in '93. It did last long being that it was a Metzler. Too far back to be sre but don't remember it looking any better to me. I have always been more concerned with handling when it comes to tires.
