Wanted to say hi and put up a pic of my 1982 Seca 750 bobber. This bike has been sitting in my garage for nearly 5 years. I purchased many stock components and was originally going to restore it. About a year ago I got the bobber fever and decided to trash the idea of restoration. The pic shows where I am at as of yesterday. I will be putting on a sucide shifter, covering all wires, painting tins and frame, and wrapping the headers.

Welcome, like the pipes. Is that a muffler or just a straight pipe?

They are mufflers. I custom built a 4 into 2 system from what I believe to be a stock honda cb or goldwing exhaust system. Not sure which. But they were free. It sounds freakin awesome though. Thanks for the interest.

Those are the stock bars with the cover tabs removed. Was tryin to save money and not replace the cables. Maybe they will get changed someday.

yeah dragbars or superbike bars would be nicer. i believe another member here put a suicide shifter on his bike and crashed it on the shake down ride because somebody pulled out in front of him and he lost it trying to emergency stop one handed

I have a suicide shifter, I love it. Its worth all the questions and looks you get. definetly not safe, but who cares.

    That's me!

if i were to do it again, i would do a foot clutch, then the whole thing coulda been avoided.

It has been a while since I was last able to do any work on the bike. I just got my new front tire in, but I will wait to mount it after the bike is painted. I have torn down the bike to clean the frame and the engine. Some pics added here Flickr. Hopefully it will be painted within the next month.

I especially like what you did to the rear fender, small detail but it looks awesome, what did you use?

Thanks for your comment on the rear fender. The rear fender is actually a chopped up front fender off of a big dog motorcycle. I found a store on ebay selling new big dog surplus parts.

Re: New Seca Bobber on the site/Progress update.

I must say that progress on the bobber has been slow, but it is finally moving ahead again. I used the long weekend and a couple of vacation days to sand, prime, and paint the bike. This was my first attempt at painting and it showed on the tank and the battery box. I have some runs. I believe I rushed too much when applying the paint. I didn't aloow for enough flash time. Havn't decided yet if I will sand and repaint any of it. Might just leave it considering it is not a show bike and it is a 1981 Seca bobber. Here is a link to some pictures showing the paint: flickr

Hopefully I will be able to put the motor back in the frame soon.
