    All,

I have an '85 XJ 700 Maxim that was given to me. Cosmetically, it is a beautiful bike. It has new tires with less than 5 miles on them, a new battery, a new left mirror. The problem is that it was run with low (or no) oil, so the engine is frozen.

I hate to part with it as it is exactly what I have been looking for and a friend has offered to help me put in a new engine.

Does anyone have a salvage bike with a running engine that would fit this bike?

In Florida or Orlando area would be superb or reasonable price with reasonable shipping.

I have a 1982 yamaha xj750 maxim. I have no idea if the engine fits, but it turns and I could sell you the whole bike for very cheap.

It looks like you are in Georgia, is that right? Would it be worth shipping it?

Is your bike air cooled or liquid cooled?

Is it a Maxim or Seca?

    I am very interested! Thanks!

I asked on the forum which engines I could swap out so I will see what they say.

    Thanks again! Let's keep talking.

air cooled, not worth shipping (I live on I-95) so it would be a day trip for you to come pick it up.

I'm very interested. Let me see what some of the guys on the forum say to my question of compatibility and ease of switching. I am glad to hear it is air cooled.

Can you give me a city so I can mapquest it?

    Thanks!

Richmond Hill, GA. I forget which exit number it is, but it's a straight shot on 95
