When I did my dual front disc upgrade to my XJ650, I didn't have the proper XJ750 rotors so I used two 650 type rotors - no slot, heavy and thick. I finally got around to putting the proper rotors on and what a difference. They're slotted, thinner and much lighter. Gone is the squealing and braking performance is noticeably improved. And with the reduced weight on the front wheel, there is even an improvement in the ride.

So, in short, if you upgrade to a dual disc front end, don't do what I did - wait until you get all the right parts.

As soon as I get a chance I'll post some. Maybe tomorrow.

Can I put the 750 rotors on the 650 front then? Yeah it's a single but it should help.

Sure. Just add a master cylinder, calipers, brake lines, and a junction. It'll work great.

I meant replace my single 650 rotor with a single 750 rotor. My right fork has no where to mount a caliper.....

The rotor should fit perfectly. The only difference being the slots and the fact that it's thinner.

I'm sure there's a reason that the 650 rotor is thicker. My guess is since only one rotor is stopping roughly the same size bike, it will wear twice as fast and have to handle twice as much heat as a dual rotor setup.

I probably wouldn't do it. It might heat fade faster and be more prone to warping.
