    Hi guys/gals,

    My son has his first bike, 1981 Maxim 650. Runs good but needs some detailing on the paint. Is the Maxim 650 the same as the XJ650? Unsure of the detail here. Basically, his bike needs paint, tires and I would like to make the engine fins as pretty as some of yours. :lol:

    Just thought I would introduce myself. We live in FL.

    The model number of the 1981 XJ 650 Maxim is XJ650H.

    Welcome aboard. I would check out the photo gallery to look for some ideas. You can click on the hyperlink "User Galleries" and thumb through the members albums. Also the XJCD has some info on DIY paint jobs.
